BOGUS TEXT MESSAGES

Patients in Northern Ireland have received text messages indicating that their registration with their Doctors' Practice was about to lapse and they should ring the number provided. This is a fraud designed to obtain personal details.

BOGUS TELEPHONE CALLS

Patients throughout Northern Ireland are receiving telephone calls purporting to be from their own health centre enquiring about patient medication and offering medication at a discounted rate. As you know, prescription medication is free. This is a fraud and these people are after your bank details. If contacted in this way report immediately to your local police.

A new video that shows women what to expect when they attend for breast screening has been produced by the Public Health Agency.

It covers the whole process of screening - from receiving the invitation letter to getting the results.

Do you know someone whose family has a history of abdominal aortic aneurysm- a swelling of the main artery which lies in the abdomen? If you are a man over the age of 65 and you haven't attended for screening before you can now self refer for a scan. Ring 028 90631828 to book a scan.

Repeat Prescriptions

If a repeat prescription is needed please ring the surgery on 028 2744 0243.      48 hours notice is needed.

When ordering your prescription please ensure you state the name of the medication and the strength.

Our Prescription line allows you multicolour_pillsto leave a recorded message for a repeat prescription at any time.

You can collect your script from the reception desk before 5pm daily or, if you wish, we can leave your script to be collected by a local chemist of your choice. Please check with reception to find out if your local chemist collects from the Health Centre. In this case you simply order your prescription from us and collect it from the chemist 48 hours later. This can only be for repeat prescriptions.

Please do not ask local chemists to supply your tablets without a prescription as legally they need a prescription before dispensing.

Alternatively you can order online via the link at the top of this page. New users are required to complete a simple one-off registration. When ordering medication online please ensure that you have ordered it under the correct patient's name and date of birth. Under no circumstances should a patient order medication for another person under their name.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Repeat Dispensing

Patients who have been stabilised on repeat medications for some time may request to be put on the repeat dispense scheme. This means that the GP will authorise your medication to be dispensed by your chemist on a regular basis  for up to 12 months without you needing to order prescriptions. You will be asked to have a medication review, at least once a year, to make sure that your condition and treatment remain the same.
