BOGUS TEXT MESSAGES

Patients in Northern Ireland have received text messages indicating that their registration with their Doctors' Practice was about to lapse and they should ring the number provided. This is a fraud designed to obtain personal details.

BOGUS TELEPHONE CALLS

Patients throughout Northern Ireland are receiving telephone calls purporting to be from their own health centre enquiring about patient medication and offering medication at a discounted rate. As you know, prescription medication is free. This is a fraud and these people are after your bank details. If contacted in this way report immediately to your local police.

If you are waiting for an operation and your waiting time appears delayed/excessive please ring directly the secretary of the consultant you saw at outpatients which will be on your appointments card.

Please do not ask your GP or Reception staff to ring on your behalf unless your condition has changed.

If you have just found out that you are pregnant you do not need to see your GP. Please make an appointment to see the midwife.

              Bowel Cancer Screening Video

Bowel Cancer Screening - All eligible participants must be between the ages of 60-74 years and registered with a GP in Northern Ireland. Participants will automatically receive a kit in the post when they reach the set age. They will, at this point, be invited to participate in the screening programme.

A new video that shows women what to expect when they attend for breast screening has been produced by the Public Health Agency.

It covers the whole process of screening - from receiving the invitation letter to getting the results.

 _________________________________________________________________________

Do you know someone whose family has a history of abdominal aortic aneurysm- a swelling of the main artery which lies in the abdomen? If you are a man over the age of 65 and you haven't attended for screening before you can now self refer for a scan. Ring 028 90631828 to book a scan.

Appointments

flu_shotPlease telephone 028 2744 0243 or call at reception for an appointment. We offer both surgery appointments and telephone appointments with the GP or Practice Nurse. Appointments are released on the same day at 8.30am.

We encourage patients to attend the same doctor for any illness episode. Please make reception aware of your preference of doctor at booking. It may not always be possible to see the doctor of your choice especially if you are looking for an urgent appointment.

 Practice Nurse

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with the Practice Nurse rather than the GP. Our nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. Receptionists will help you decide if a Nurse's appointment would be suitable for you

Treatment Room Nurses

If you have suffered a minor injury, have a wound that needs dressed, or stitches to be removed you can be seen without appointment at the Treatment Room.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. This can now be done online- see link on the home page.
